The monthly Neston’s Farmers’ and Food Makers’ Market, scheduled to take place, on Saturday 4th February 2016, will not now take place so that Neston Town Council can begin work on developing a new, innovative “Artisan Element” to the Historic Friday market.
Claire Evans, Assets and Events Manager for Neston Town Council said “We’ve been carefully reviewing all of our markets and exploring scenarios to enhance the community market experience within Neston. We’re all so hugely proud of our wonderful historic Friday market, that we believe increasing the diversity of stalls is a great way to embrace the traditions of the past, whilst delivering on the public’s expectations for a modern shopping experience with specialist products. We’ve worked with some amazing producers at the Farmers’ market and we want them to share in the success of the Friday market. As Neston residents will testify, there’s such a buzz about the town on a Friday, it’s pretty special. With advertising, promotions and some new Friday market events in the pipeline, we’re set to ramp up Neston’s Friday market as a go-to destination for not only residents but to increase visitors to the town. As we saw with the highly successful Neston Victorian Christmas Festival, a busy market translates into a busy high street, so it’s a win-win for Neston Town Centre”
Full details of the new look Artisan element will be revealed in the coming weeks.
