Mayor’s Welcome

Neston Town Council - Major I am extremely proud to be elected as Town Mayor of Neston for the forthcoming year.

Since the Town Council was formed in June 2009 it has made great progress.  I believe that the Town Council is one to be proud of.If as expected, Town and Parish Councils have to take on greater responsibilities; as focussed in the coalition Government’s agenda, towards the Localism bill and The Big Society; then Neston Town Council plans to be prepared and in a position to take initiatives forward.

There are 17 elected Town Councillors serving the 5 wards in the area, all of whom serve on various committees which were set up at the annual meeting of the council last May. The Councillors have a varied range of experience and serve the committees well. The Town Council is not some invisible body; indeed it boasts a very open and public agenda. I urge you all to make use of your local Town Councillors, who can act as your local voice, will listen to your concerns and strive to make a positive difference to your everyday life.

I know that this is going to be an interesting year with invitations to lots of different events and I am especially looking forward to meeting all the different people on my journey. By doing this and experiencing these events from another perspective, I have learned about and appreciate even more the great community spirit that is in the heart of Neston.
